Okyeame Kwame expresses his position on the anti-LGBTQ+ bill
The discussion around the recent passing of the anti-LGBT+ law by the Ghanaian Parliament has been addressed by singer and multiple award winner Okyeame Kwame from Ghana.
During a panel discussion on Saturday, March 9, 2024, on UTV’s United Showbiz show, Okyeame Kwame said that he is not particularly concerned about the section of the law that aims to criminalize the actions of LGBTQ+ persons since he believes that is the least of Ghana’s concerns at the moment.

Although the measure doesn’t really worry him, he did say that he finds it hard to comprehend why it is allegedly making BJ (bl0w j0b) illegal.
The singer of “Sika” questioned why the measure that the Ghanaian Parliament enacted on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, would attempt to make it illegal and how a wife giving her husband BJ relates to LGBT+ concerns.
The rap dude jokingly claimed that he was merely highlighting the concerns of the BJ association in Ghana when the program presenter, MzGee, questioned why he was so worried about that particular section of the law and nothing else.

Segments of the anti-gay measure stipulate that those who engage in LGBTQ sexual practices may be imprisoned for a maximum of three years or six months.
Additionally, the measure establishes a three-to five-year prison term for “wilful promotion, sponsorship, or support of LGBTQ+ activities.”
