This is what Kwaku Manu says amidst reports John Kumah was ‘poisoned’

Popular Kumasi-based Ghanaian actor and musician Kwaku Manu has advised people to be extra cautious and watchful of the people in their social circle, especially in light of the recent rumors that former deputy finance minister John Kumah’s death was caused by poisoning.

He asserts that recent reports of Kumah and the New Patriotic Party (NPP)’s Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also referred to as Chairman Wontumi, being poisoned at a hotel demonstrate that people should exercise caution when around friends, regardless of the type of friendship.

Speaking during a live TikTok session that ZackGh.com was watching, Manu advised the people to heed the reports surrounding Kumah’s passing.
“Fear people who are within your circle. It was not NDC and NPP people who were together. They were all NPP members,” he said.

About John Kumah’s death

John Kumah, the Deputy Minister of Finance, died on Thursday, March 7, 2024.

According to reports, the deputy minister battled sickness for a long period before passing away. Kumah was 45 years old.

An autopsy is still awaiting to see whether the poisoning accusations are accurate.

Some NPP factions considered him as one of the party’s up-and-coming stars and a potential running mate for the party’s flagbearer, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

He just became victorious in his constituency’s party’s parliamentary primary, securing his candidacy to represent it in the next general elections. He practiced law, preached, and was an entrepreneur. Prior to entering parliament in 2020, Kumah held the position of Chief Executive Officer for the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP). His six children and his spouse, Apostle Mrs. Lilian Kumah, survive him.
