Sizzla Kalonji, a Jamaican reggae musician, has publicly criticized DJ Khaled. The former recently uploaded a video of himself lighting many plaques of Khaled’s albums on fire to Instagram. The dancehall leader has earlier accused Khaled of disrespecting his Jamaican heritage.

Sizzla destroyed and set fire to several DJ Khaled plaques on Instagram on December 8th. In the video, Sizzle is heard complaining that DJ Khaled humiliated him. The musician gave no additional information regarding his conflict with the God Did singer. Sizzla continued by shattering framed memorial plaques and making sure to remove pictures of Khaled’s son Asahd out of respect.

In the video, Sizzla can be heard saying:

“DJ Khaled, man, ya insulted me. You insult Jamaica Wrong plaque ya send me. Burn the devil, burn corruption. Wrong plaque ya send me. Can’t even see me name.”

Sizzla was upset because his name was written in very small size on the plaque, which he felt was demeaning to Jamaican culture as a whole, according to TMZ.

He was also heard telling Khaled, “You’re not the best, you’re the worst,” in a another Instagram video.

Sizzle also gave a justification for not destroying Asahd’s photo. The former then referred to Khaled’s youngster as his “godchild”, saying that “babies are innocent.” He added:

“Rastafari! Put this in my studio.”

Asahd and Aalam are the singer for Every Chance I Get’s two sons.

Sizzla has made multiple appearances on albums by DJ Khaled. His debut appearance was in the rapper’s Grateful album from 2017. In 2019, Sizzla collaborated with Buju Banton, Mavado, and 070 Shake on the Father of Asahd intro single Holy Mountain. Additionally, the 46-year-old performed with Buju Banton, Capleton, Bounty Killer, and Skillibeng on the song These Streets Know My Name from Khaled’s most recent album, God Did.

Khaled had not responded to Sizzla’s public dismissal at the time of writing this article.

Internet users’ reactions to Sizzla’s activities were conflicted. Some people thought it was excessive to try to have DJ Khaled removed because Sizzla’s name was printed too small. But fervent admirers of the Jamaican-born musician said that the musician’s rage is justified. They believed that Khaled’s success on the music charts was due to Sizzla’s partnership with him.
