‘Sarkodie Says He Is An Afrobeat Artiste When He Is Outside Ghana’– Kelvyn Boy

Former signee of Burniton Music Group, Kelvyn Brown aka Kelvynboy has insisted it’s Afrobeats that sustains the country’s musical identity.

He argued even big artists like Sarkodie who pride themselves with rap music often use Afrobeats as their identity when they are representing the country abroad musically.

According to him, these artistes knowing Afrobeats is the brand that sells abroad, so try to cash in. In an interview with Jay Foley on Joy prime TV, Kelvyn Boy said,

“I know a lot of big artistes who are rappers but when they go out of Ghana they say they do Afrobeats or Afro Dancehall. I’ve heard Sarkodie say he is an Afrobeats artiste outside Ghana.”

He added:“However, when these artistes come back to Ghana they pick the genres they are known for and drop the Afrobeats”
