Passengers left stranded as trotro mate flees with money, and the driver starts a search for him
An intriguing story that has arrived at the front desk of ZackGh.com is that of a little bus conductor in Ghana known as “trotro mate” who has gone away with the money supplied by the passengers and has left them stranded when the driver goes out in search of him.
Normally, it is the “trotro mate” who collects the money while the car is halfway moved; but, in this case, it appears that the conductor got the money before the car was ready, then fled from the eyes of his employer and the passengers.
Trotro drivers in Ghana typically engage a Mate to assist them in collecting Lorry fee from their clients. One of these Troto Mates has fled after receiving the money from the travelers. In a video released on Twitter by Adom TV, some passengers are shown stranded when a bus conductor leaves with money while the driver launches a hunt for him. Some of the irate passengers attempted to explain their predicament to onlookers. According to several of the passengers, they were on their way to Circle a suburb in Accra. The Mate took off on his heels, and the driver went looking for him.
