National Cathedral: Does Akufo-Addo fear God, you’re building a house for God with such blood on it – Prophet Oduro

Prophet Kofi Oduro, the founder and head of the Alabaster International Ministry, has criticized President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his administration for how they have handled the building of Ghana’s National Cathedral.

During his sermon on Sunday, March 10, 2024, Prophet Oduro told his audience that despite the project having cost close to $60 billion, all that is visible at its location is a massive hole.

The pastor went on to say that the government has hidden behind these men of God to steal from Ghanaians by putting the faces of respected clergymen as the project’s directors.

“Where is God in government? Where does God stand in the Jubilee house? Does our president fear God? Why is it that this National Cathedral has robbed this nation’s coffers?

“$58 million and all we have is a pit, a big hole. $58 million, where is God in that? You have stolen to the point that even building a house for God for the past four years… we put a chain on the neck of fathers with hard-earned reputations, people who have served the Lord for years without any dent. We make them trustees and we go behind them and steal,” he said.

He added “You are building a house for God with such blood on it? $58 million and you have a very big manhole. $58 million, this is all we have. I am a builder. If you give me $58 million, I will give you a structure.”

Prophet Oduro also indicated that if the $58 million spent on the project so far was given to any of the Christian denominations in the country, they would have put up an edifice to behold.

He said that the National Cathedral ought to have been built without government assistance, much like the National Mosque of Ghana.

According to Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng, Secretary to the Board of Trustees of the National Cathedral of Ghana, the cathedral would require an additional $250 million to be completed.

Claiming that the America Bible Museum is a smaller structure than the National Cathedral of Ghana, he justified the cathedral project’s $600 million price tag.
