Lamrana Lamzo Releases EP

Lamrana  Jalloh commonly known as Lamzo, a Sierra Leonean musician based in the UK, has on Thursday December 17, 2020 disclosed to Premier News that, he has recently released an Extended Play (EP) titled ‘One Man Soldier’ consisting of four tracts.

An Extended Play (EP) usually holds about four songs total and often served as compilations of singles and album samplers.

Lamzo explained that the title ‘One Man Soldier’ came about as a result of disappointed he had with his best friend whom he claimed that used to support financially.

He emphasized, “My best friend abandoned me when I ran out of money.

He was always beside me when everything was alright with me no matter what, but sooner God put me into trial, he did not only abandoned me but turned against me as an enemy.”

He said that out of experience, anger and disappointment, he decided to write the song ‘One Man Soldier’ and titled his album.

He said the song also advised one to be hardworking and stop depending on others too much, because, for no reason and at any time you will be disappointed.

According to Lamzo, he started a career in music in 2016 in The Gambia where he served 15 years singing with a mixed variety of bands with influenced of Reggae. “I progressed managing my own band called ‘Trinity Band’ which gained recognition around the hotels and tourist industry in The Gambia,” he said.

He also said that during his stay in The Gambia, he participated in a singing competition ‘Rising Stars Africa’s Got Talent’ from audition to the final receiving majority vote.
He revealed that he is an instrumentalist who plays ridim and acoustic guitars, singer and song writer who sings Afro, Bashment, and Reggae.

“I was inspired by Bob Marley, Morgan Heritage and Lucky Dube whom I referred as my mentors,” he asserted.

He said that he has released several tracks and video clips that have made it in The Gambia and Sierra Leone.

He noted that he usually writes about general and his life experiences, saying, “I usually sensitizes and preaches the young generation and the up-coming ones about things that usually happen in life. I mean, the struggles on the side of life mostly those that are not born with silver spoons.”
