Jamaican artiste, Busy signal lands in Ghana ahead of Stonebwoy’s Bhim concert 2022

On December 21, Busy Signal and his team flew into Ghana to finish setting up for the sixth iteration of Stonebwoy’s yearly “Bhim Concert.”

At this year’s edition of the largest artiste-led music festivals in Ghana, the multi-award-winning reggae and dancehall musician will perform as a headliner with Stonebwoy, Africa’s most renowned reggae and dancehall performer. On Friday, December 23, 2021, at 19:00 GMT, the eagerly awaited event is slated to take place at Grand Arena, Accra International Conference Center.

Upon their arrival in Accra, Busy Signal and his fellow countrymen were welcomed by Stonebwoy, a portion of the media, and fans. Highlights of his welcoming celebration included a road show through the energetic streets of Nima, Accra New Town, and the neighborhood. Despite his media engagements, he will host Stonebwoy and the Bhim Band for their first rehearsal later on Thursday, December 22.

Bhim Concert, founded by renowned Ghanaian-International singer Stonebwoy, has grown to become the biggest and most well-attended artist-led music event in Ghana, building on the success of earlier iterations. Since its debut, the festival has presented a massive roster of well-known musicians from the Caribbean and Africa.

Recent Bhim Concerts have featured special guests Morgan Heritage and Jamaican reggae and dancehall icon Beenie Man, along with some of the nation’s most talented musical artists, including DBlack, MzVee, Samini, Sefa, Kofi Kinaata, and others. All of these performers gave memorable performances amidst the concert’s incredible stage design, production, and overwhelming fan response.

The concert, which the organizers call an experience refuge, is said to be another addition to a growing list of year-end events that enable Africa’s sizable diaspora audiences to interact with their local middle-class counterparts at some of the continent’s biggest parties in Ghana.
