Nigerian Comedian, Basket Mouth announces divorce to wife of 12 years

After the pair celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary, renowned Nigerian stand up comedian Bright Okpocha, commonly known as Basketmouth, revealed that he and his wife, Elsie Uzoma Okpocha, will be divorcing on December 22, 2022.

The comedian shared the terrible news on Facebook and said that, despite how much it bothers him to do so, he had to get it out of the way.

He continued, begging with the public to respect their choice, saying that when they part ways, they will cooperate to care for their children.

“As much as it pains me to bring my personal life to the public space, this is an unavoidable situation.

“After much deliberations, my wife and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage. As we move forward separately, we will continue to work together to give our beautiful children all the care, love, guidance and support they need.

“We humbly ask that you respect our privacy as we navigate through these times.
Thank you,” he added.

Janelle, Jason, and Maya Okpocha are the happy children of the couple, who were united in marriage in 2010.

However, the comic said that he already had an Amy-named child before getting hitched.
