Veteran Ghanaian gospel artist Edward Akwasi Boateng has spoken out on why there are certain difficulties around his personality in the public eye.

According to him, his desire to promote his music in various media outlets compelled him to do countless interviews, which occasionally raised problematic topics about his life on social media.

He stated that when addressing concerns about his situation, some people misconstrued his words.

Nana Ama McBrown, anchor of Onua TV monitored by ZackGh.com, questioned about the emotional sentiments in your songs that inspire people to trust on God. People suddenly accuse you of being a dependent person, among other things. Are you not certain that some of the interviews you gave contributed to the controversy?

Boateng said, “In the interviews, I’ve stated that we no longer sell music cassettes on the road; instead, we do so through social media. So, if I go to a media outlet to promote my product [a music cassette], and the journalist asks a question [about his life], can I remain silent? Certainly, I will answer, although the public occasionally misunderstands me.”

About Edward Akwasi Boateng’s recent issues:

Prophet Benard El Benard Nelson-Eshun, the General Overseer of Spiritlife Revival Ministries, presented Edward Akwasi Boateng with a vehicle and extended an educational scholarship to assist the gospel singer’s children up to university.

After a video of the legendary gospel artist selling pen drives and CDs for survival went viral, he claimed to have lost 17 automobiles and all of his properties as a result of a failed marriage, leaving him to work to make ends meet.

The musician’s struggle struck the preacher’s heart, causing him to provide charity to the artist, with others also giving to his financial support.

Furthermore, fans of the morning programme on Angel TV and Angel FM collected GHC60,000 to help the gospel artist.

In the early 2000s, Edward Akwasi Boateng was a well-known figure in Ghanaian gospel music, earning more than $300,000.

During that period, he led a luxurious life, driving 17 costly automobiles and owning large homes across the country.

He told Akoma FM that despite selling 55,500 copies of his hit song ‘Adea Mep3’ and earning a comfortable living from music, he faced difficulty in his other business operations, which contributed to his financial difficulties.
