Beale Street Music Festival returns with Sarkodie, Stonebwoy

Memphis’ Beale Street Music Festival returns this year after being canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to Covid-19. Its 44th edition will take place from April 29 to May 1, with a roster that includes Ghanaian superstars Sarkodie and Stonebwoy. The two new additions to the roster are part of the festival’s month-long tribute to Ghana, the organization’s 2022 honored country.

Weezer, Counting Crows, Stone Temple Pilots, Death Cab For Cutie, Spoon, and others will join previously confirmed artists such as Lil Wayne, Da Baby, Smashing Pumpkins, and Foo Fighters.

Hip-hop will be strongly represented by Three 6 Mafia, MoneyBagg Yo, NLE Choppa, Project Pat, Al Kapone, Lil Wyte, Jucee Froot, and White $osa, among others.
Van Morrison will also perform in Memphis for the first time since 1996.

Lindsey Buckingham, Chevelle, Dirty Honey, Grace Potter, Goose, Grouplove, Rival Sons, Indigo Girls, Kurt Vile & the Violators, Patty Griffin, Toad the Wet Sprocket, The Glorious Sons, Waka Flocka Flame, Soccer Mommy, Ayron Jones, Black Pistol Fire, JJ Grey & Mofro, Robert Randolph and the Family Band, Elvin Bishop

Three-day passes are $175 and may be purchased at www.memphisinmay.org/bsmftickets. There are also VIP passes available.

• During the event, the Memphis Area Transportation Authority (MATA) will provide a free quick bus shuttle between downtown and the Fairgrounds in Liberty Park to assist out-of-town fans staying in downtown hotels.The music festival is part of the city’s annual Memphis in May International Festival, which celebrates Ghana this year.
