The husband of Mrs. Ophelia Hayford, Mr. Quansah, was shot dead by persons believed to be highway robbers on October 9 during his return from a campaign trip.
Information reaching Zackgh is that the widow has received massive support from the people of Mfantseman to succeed her husband.
They kept chanting “No Wife, No Vote” as a sign of solidarity and support for her.
Mrs Ophelia Hayford had to resign from the Ghana Police Service to accept her new role.
The Inspector General of Police (IGP) has been charged by the president to ensure that the killers of the late Mfantseman MP are apprehended and the president told the IGP that if nothing is done about this particular matter, what will happen will happen.”
The President said this when he visited the bereaved family. He announced that government will assume the responsibility of catering for the widow and her children and also support in giving the late MP a befitting burial.
