NDC communications officer at Asante Mampong allegedly stabbed to death

Osei Yaw Akoto, a 45-year-old National Democratic Congress (NDC) communications officer in Asante Mampong, was fatally stabbed by his spouse.

The tragedy happened on the evening of April 4, 2024, while the deceased and his wife were arguing, according to adomonline.com.

The deceased’s friend and neighbor, who identified himself as George, corroborated the event.

He related how the deceased’s oldest son hurried to his home to ask for assistance.

“So I rushed to his house because we are neighbours; I call him Borga, and so when I got there, he was lying in a pool of blood but still breathing. He was stabbed in his chest, and so it was deep. I don’t have a car, so I rushed to get one, and we sent him to the hospital,” he said on Adom FM.

George said that he was able to get his companion to the government hospital in Asante Mampong.

Nevertheless, in minutes, Osei Yaw passed away from his wounds and was declared dead, in spite of the medical team’s best attempts.

George disclosed that the pair had arguments on a regular basis, but nobody saw coming that the most recent altercation would result in the stabbing.

Since then, the wife has been held while an investigation is conducted.
