Ejisu by-election: Kwesi Nyantakyi reportedly faints, hospitalised hours to crucial NPP primary
Former Ghana Football Association president Kwesi Nyantakyi has been hospitalised hours before the New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary primary in the Ejisu Constituency on Saturday, April 13, 2024.
According to several sources, Mr. Nyantakyi, one of nine contenders in the race, “went off” when meeting with his lieutenants in Akyawkrom, a suburb of Ejisu, on Friday evening.

According to reports, he began to stumble with his hand on his head before being helped and quickly transferred to a hospital, where he was seen receiving treatment.
ZackGh.com sighted an image of an emaciated Kwesi Nyantakyi resting on a hospital bed with a drip.
Meanwhile, everything is ready for the NPP’s parliamentary primary today.
This primary follows the untimely death of late MP John Kumah on March 7, 2024.
On April 6, the vetting committee cleared all nine candidates for the party’s parliamentary primary in the Ejisu Constituency.
The contenders include Kwabena Boateng, Dr Evans Duah, Klinsman Karikari Mensah, Helena Mensah, and Jacqueline Abena Pokua Amoah-Boaitey.
The remaining members are Portia Baffoe Abronye, Kwasi Nyantakyi, Aaron Prince Duah, and Yaa Akyawmaa Aboagye.
The Electoral Commission (EC) has set a by-election on April 30, 2024.
John Kumah, 45, died after a brief illness, leaving behind a wife and six children.
No other political party has expressed an interest in competing in the by-election.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has mentioned that it is still deliberating whether to enter the electoral contest.
Meanwhile, Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, a former Member of Parliament for the area, has confirmed his decision to run as an independent candidate in the upcoming election.
