The Board of Ghana Commercial Bank Limited has appointed John Kofi Adomakoh as the new Managing Director.
Effective November 9, 2020, he will assume his role.
Mr. Adomakoh replaces Mr. Anselm Ray Sowah whose tenure ended in September this year after more than three years in that position.
Mr. John Kofi Adomako was the Director & Global Head, Project and Asset-Based Finance of the African Export-Import Bank headquartered based in Cairo.
He is equipped with over 25 years of banking experience within Africa. All these positions he has occupied are executive management levels.
He has been in many leadership roles. A few are Executive Director, Corporate & Institutional Banking at Barclays Bank Ghana Limited (now ABSA Bank Ghana Limited) and Head of Institutional Banking Group at Ecobank Ghana.
He holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. He is a former student of St. Augustine’s College, Cape Coast.
Hoping to become a world-class bank, Mr. John Kofi Adomako’s international leadership experience and expertise in global financial markets will be of great help to the success of the Bank’s transformation.

GCB Bank is hoping that the New Managing Director will move the bank to greater strides.
