Disciples: BBC documentary on ‘The Cult of TB Joshua’ (Video)

The extensively reported investigative documentary about a prominent African preacher who subjected his followers to horrific violations of human rights has been aired by the BBC, a public broadcaster in the United Kingdom.

The late, highly regarded Nigerian prophet T.B. Joshua of the Synagogue, Church of All Nations (SCOAN), turned discovered to be the pastor in issue.

Early on January 8, 2024, the BBC broadcast a three-part series titled DISCIPLES: The Cult of TB Joshua, with each episode lasting an average of fifty minutes.

A special showing is planned for Tuesday, January 9, 2024, in Accra.

Some of Joshua’s victims detailed in detail the allegedly terrifying experiences they had in the tapes GhanaWeb was able to view.

The majority talked with intense anguish, while some cried and said, among other things, that they were under the false impression that Joshua was only assaulting them personally and that many other people were also victims.

A few of the victims, who also happened to be close friends of Johsua, talked of his love of money, his ability to manipulate his followers, and his acknowledged promise to get revenge for the wrongdoings of colonialism.

Additionally, there was the portion regarding Joshua’s rise to prominence in political circles as a result of his extravagant trips to presidents and the equivalent visits that African leaders made to SCOAN.

Temitope Balogun Joshua, often referred to as T. B. Joshua, was a prominent Nigerian televangelist, preacher, and philanthropist.

He was the founder and head of SCOAN, one of the major megachurches on the continent, which is based in Lagos and operates the Emmanuel TV television channel. Joshua passed away on June 5, 2021, at his base in Lagos, Nigeria. He was born on June 12, 1963, in Ondo, Nigeria.
