The Public Health & Development Consultant who is contesting the Parliamentary seat for the third time running is poised to change the fortunes of the masses from poverty to prosperity, as her vision, mission and dream is to make a substantial change, by way of creating and providing meaningful employment to at least one person in every household in her constituency.

Touching on how she seeks to make this audacious ‘employment drive’ policy a reality, she maintained that she had done some before during her time as DCE and short stint as Regional Minister and therefore she has the experience in getting it done.

Obaatanpa Mavis believes the women and youth in her Constituency are eager to work and the little assistance that is offered to them by way of soft loans as start ups or providing them with basic logistics for their work, will go a long way to lessen their burden and get them on track to make ends meet.

“My people are full of energy and ready to work but our current leaders are not creating that enabling environment for them to succeed, it has been nepotism, favoritism and ‘family and friends’ all along and am poised to end this canker in my dear Constituency.”

“My people deserve the necessary support and with me in opposition, little can I offer to help in that direction, therefore I need the help of my people to make me the MP so that I can lobby and get more opportunities for them.”, she said.

Obaatanpa Mavis also indicated that, palm oil production, which serves as a source of livelihood for majority of families in her Constituency will be given a big boost as she will assist in the upgrade of the production sites to meet international standards to attract investors.

“I have held talks with some foreign investors who are more than glad to come and invest big time in the palm oil industry in the Constituency provided there is a little upgrade in the standards of the palm oil production sites and I promise to marshal all the necessary forces to make it possible.”

Lamenting on how poor road networks is affecting businesses in her Constituency, the former DCE said all the abandoned roads that were part of the Cocoa roads project will be given priority when she assumes office as Member of Parliament.

“With God on our side, I know JM will win and I will win too so that the good works we started some time past will be completed in earnest”, she concluded.
