Revealed: Why the GFA handed Richmond Lamptey 30 months Ban
Asante Kotoko midfielder Richmond Lamptey has been handed a 30-month ban from all football-related activities over his involvement in the Ashanti Gold vs Inter Allies match-fixing scandal.
According to Prosecution, Richmond Lamptey stated during interrogation that Seth Osei of Ashanti gold SC called him at the entrance of their dressing room and asked him that “haven‟t your elders spoken to you‟.
They(GFA) also discovered that Richmond Lamptey handed a white paper to Nii and informed him that the match will end with that correct score of 5-1 so he should call the number on the sheet of paper for the person to stake the bet for him (Richmond Lamptey).
Meaning Richmond Lamptey knew the match was fixed and tried to make money from it.
