Senegal: Former Prime Minister Mahammed Boun Abdallah Dionne Dies at 64
Mahammed Boun Abdallah Dionne, the 64-year-old former prime minister who campaigned for president on March 24th, passed away in France on Friday, April 5. The day before the election, Macky Sall’s close buddy had been flown to France for medical attention. Macky Sall, the outgoing president, responded right away on social media
Mahammed Boun Abdallah Dionne had been a loyal among the faithful alongside Macky Sall since 2005. Chief of staff during Macky Sall’s tenure as prime minister; in 2014, the current president selected him as head of government. The two men will keep going for one another. Boun Abdallah Dionne was appointed minister of state in 2019 and then became secretary general of the president. He consistently holds important positions of confidence for President Macky Sall.

He is one of the four front-runners for the presidential majority candidate in September 2023, when the presidential election is being planned. However, Macky Sall suggests Amadou Ba. Subsequently, Boon Abdallah Dionne resolves to run as a rebel. He had long hoped to enlist the support of the majority who were skeptical of former prime minister Amadou Ba’s background, or perhaps to get orders from Macky Sall to support him.
After being emergency evacuated on March 24, the eve of the presidential election, Mahammed Boun Abdallah Dionne, who had long suffered from renal disease, was unable to finish his campaign. On April 5, he passed away at a hospital in Paris.
