Ebony is still reigning as Artiste of the year – Starboy Kwarteng

The father of late dancehall sensation Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng aka Ebony Reigns known as Nana Opoku Kwarteng aka Starboy Kwarteng has revealed that he is very happy his daughter is still reigning as VGMA artiste of the Year.

According to Starboy Kwarteng, since there is an outbreak of deadly coronavirus and also the President’s ban on gathering, it means this years edition of the VGMA won’t come off meaning his daughter has held the awards for three times in a role.

He said: “It means the queen will still be the occupant of the seat, hence reigning for 3 consecutive years, there is no two ways about that, the queen Nana Hemaa Ebony still reigns”

Starboy Kwarteng explained that he is glad that thing are happening this way and he is very happy about that.

“Hahaha, I am glad it’s happening this way though, I must admit that I am highly glad,” he concluded.

The late Ebony would have lost her award last year had it not been the fracas that happened between Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy.

After the incident, Starboy Kwarteng came out and stated that the incident was caused by the spirit of his late daughter who is unhappy at the way organizers treated him.

The father of late musician Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng known in showbiz as Ebony Reigns, Nana Opoku Kwarteng aka Starboy Kwarteng together with his eldest daughter Foriwaa Opoku Kwarteng have paid a visit to the late musician graveside.

Today marks exactly two (2)years Ebony Reigns, the sensational Afro Dancehall artist met her unlikely death.

Ebony Reigns died together with her best friend, Frank Kuri and soldier bodyguard, Atsu Vondee.

They were riding in a Jeep with the registration number AS 497-16 from Sunyani to Kumasi when the Jeep collided sideways with a VIP bus going the opposite direction. Only the driver survived.

It was just a few days before her 21st birthday when she met her untimely death on 8th February 2018. Ebony Reigns was laid to rest on 24th March 2019 at the Osu Cemetery.

Nana Opoku Kwarteng who has made it clear that he will continue to celebrate his daughter as long as he lives today went to her graveside to drop some flowers on her grave and a sign of remembrance.

May her gentle soul continue to rest in perfect peace
