A 14-year-old Atletico Madrid fan dies during La Liga title celebrations

A tragic event has taken place in the center of Madrid’s, as a 14-year-old fan has reportedly lost his life during Atletico Madrid’s La Liga title celebrations.

Thousands of supporters took to streets of the Spanish capital after Atletico Madrid came back to win 2-1 over Real Valladolid on Saturday, as they mathematically clinched the La Liga Santander trophy from their rivals Real Madrid the defending champion.

According to EI Pais, the youngster was sat with his body out the window outside the van in which was traveling and he hit his head at the entrance of a car park at the plaza de Santa Ana.

The van carried several young people whose bodies were also outside the vehicle, with the driver having knocked down several construction fences before entering the car park where the accident occurred.

Ambulances arrived at the area but couldn’t provide any help and confirmed the 14-year-old’s lost his life.
