Several injured as church building collapses at Akyem Batabi in the Eastern Region

One person has been confirmed dead whilst several others are trapped in an uncompleted church building at Akyem Batabi in the Asene Manso Akroso  Eastern Region of Ghana.

The building is a six-storey building which had over 60 worshipers praying to end their three-day fasting on Tuesday, October 20.

Some  managed to escape whilst others sustained several degrees of injury.

Other persons were rushed to the Akyem Oda Hospital.

Unfortunately,a number of them are still trapped in the rubble whilst NADMO works to rescue them.

The church building has been in existence for 28 years now.
