Ghanaian actor, Yogot of popular Junka Town series reportedly dead
Osuman Idrees, a Ghanaian actor from in Takoradi and best known as Yogot from the hit comic TV series Junka Town, has died.
Although the actor’s family has not verified this, unsubstantiated sources indicate that he died on the morning of Tuesday, June 11, 2024, in the Great Faith Clinic in the Efua Crentsil Building in Effiakuma, Takoradi.
The exact reason of Yogot’s death is unknown, however stories indicate that he died of an unspecified ailment.

Blogger Fiifi Adinkra, founder of GhanaNdwom, was one of the first to report about Yogot’s untimely departure.
Connect FM, a Takoradi-based radio station, verified the tragic news, and highlife musician Nero X posted it on Facebook.
The unexpected news has stunned the Ghanaian entertainment industry and admirers of the actor, with many going to social media to express their condolences and recall his famous performances.
Yogot’s involvement in Junka Town, a series that propelled other Western Region actors to popularity, notably Too Much and Atemuda, helped him become a household figure.
The series, set in the hamlet of Effia Kuma, is credited with showcasing talents such as Kofi Kinaata to a larger audience.
