“We Won’t Behave Like The Deceptive NPP Government That Promised Us ‘Heaven’ But Taking Us Through ‘Hell’-Mavis AMA Frimpong

Former Eastern Regional Minister under the erstwhile JDM administration, Mavis Ama Frimpong, has stated that the recently launched People’s Manifesto by the National Democratic Congress has given glimpses of hope to many Ghanaians who had lost faith in the Ghanaian political landscape.

According to her, there are a lot of Ghanaians who are disgruntled and heartbroken owing to the monumental failure on the part of the ruling NPP government to deliver to expectations despite all the resources they have at their disposal, not to even talk of all the juicy promises they made to Ghanaians in the run up to the 2016 elections and Hon Mavis believes the only viable alternative Ghanaians are banking their hopes on, is the National Democratic Congress as the NDC has a better track record of fulfilling its campaign promises compared to the ruling NPP government which is “heavy” and “hefty” on giving promises but “low” and “poor” on delivery.

Hon Mavis Ama Frimpong in an interview with a local based radio station as monitored by this Zackgh.com said, the next NDC government will by the help of the Almighty God, follow to the latter and implement the promises made in their current manifesto as that will be the surest way to rekindle the lost faith some Ghanaians have now in our governance system.

Throwing more light on the credible policy proposals the National Democratic Congress will be offering Ghanaians when voted into power come December 2020, the Public Health and Development Consultant said, “Aside the Introduction of the ‘Big Push’ which is a $10 billion investment to develop infrastructure across the country, “The John Dramani Mahama-led NDC will also bring on board free Technical and Vocational Education(TVET), free Primary Health Care and offer 1million Jobs for the youth, import duties on all commercial vehicles and other equipment for industrial and agricultural projects will be scrapped, tax exemptions will be given to Small and Medium Scale Enterprises to boost businesses and create jobs, legalize and regulate ‘Okada’ business for safety and job creation and do a lot more others.”

“We won’t behave like the deceptive NPP government that promised us ‘heaven’ but taking us through ‘hell’. They told us we had all the resources here in Ghana but regrettably, they have borrowed over GHc130 billion in the last four years with virtually nothing to show. Prez Akufo Addo is just interested in the welfare of his family and friends to the neglect of the masses who voted him to power. Such ungratefulness is what was putting a lot of Ghanaians off until the NDC introduced its ‘People’s Manifesto’ which has invigorated and giving hopes to many people that the future is bright when we all support the National Democratic Congress to cling on to power.”, the aspiring Abirem MP added.

Making reference to some failed promises of the ruling NPP government, the former DCE of Birim North said, “They promised to build 350 Senior High Schools from scratch, they failed, they promised to make Accra the cleanest city in Africa, they failed, they promised to tar all gravel roads in towns of high agricultural outputs, they failed, they promised to eradicate corruption in the public sector, they failed miserably, they promised to reduce government borrowing but that has been a big fallacy, they promised to construct new harbours in Jamestown and Keta, they failed, they promised to regulate small scale mining to protect our water bodies but the opposite is what we are experiencing now. So you see, the NPP has nothing good to offer Ghanaians”, she fumed.

Obaatanpa Mavis, as she is affectionately called, therefore rallied Ghanaians to fully support the Candidature of H.E John Dramani Mahama as he was the surest bet to transform the economy of Ghana and spur us on to prosperity.

She further appealed to the constituents of Abirem to also vote massively for her as the next MP as she had a lot of good things in stock for the good people of the mining Constituency that contributes greatly to the GDP of Ghana.
