The Founder and Leader of the United Progressive Party (UPP) who is also standing as a presidential candidate, Mr. Akwasi Addai Odike has vehemently described the mid- year budget as unreliable and meaningless.
He explained his words on a show called KA NA WU chaired by Omanhene Nana Kofi Amankwaa saying, budget read in Parliament by the Finance Minister,Ken Ofori Atta was a meaningless budget and added that the President and his family are destroying this country.
Through an exclusive Interview, he revealed that, the title of the budget is a deviation from the true state of the reality on the ground and therefore did not suit the name “OBAATANPA”. He again said that, the NPP government has not been honest with the promises made to Ghanaians in 2016 and therefore must be voted out of office in December 2020, elections.
Furthermore,he stated that, Ghanaians are so proud of NPP’s implementation of the free senior High School, NABCO and other policies. He claimed these projects cost less and therefore Ghanaians must never be proud of this little accomplishments. He also indicated that higher expenses were spent on these policies meanwhile it cost less. He went on to add that the NPP government had planned ways to confuse Ghanaians to vote for the party again in 2020 because they know that, it is an election year and they don’t want to be voted out.
Moveover,he told Omanhene Nana Kofi Amankwaa that the little food prepared by government and shared during the lockdown has been estimated as 54 billion cedis. He claimed these expenses were false and served as a gateway to loot money. Moreover, he also descended heavily on Hon. Daniel Okyem Aboagye, Member of Parliament for Bantama Constituency over defending the mid-year budget which he claimed was useless. He made reference to the discount offered by government on electricity bills and water that, it has not been of help since most Ghanians drink from Wells,bore hole etc. He added that the Mid – year budget read by Ken Ofori Atta was meaningless to the United Progressive Party ( UPP) and its members.
Finally he urged all Ghanaians to vote for his party in the upcoming December polls because his party has an angelic vision for our mother land, Ghana.
