A Ghanaian social media user has sparked some debate on the social media space with the claim that only Sarkodie and Stonebwoy are the two Ghanaian artists who stand a chance of bringing a Grammys award to the country.
He added that what is perhaps slowing them now, for now, is that they are overly local and do not invest in the right things that would pitch them against the best there is in the world.
He stated further that what could help push them closer to the Grammys is for them to try and collaborate with international artists to give them the necessary exposure that would catch the eye of the Grammys organizers, and the people that matter in order to help them bring the award home someday.
He claimed that Sarkodie and Stonebwoy are, in his words, ‘too stingy’ to invest.
“Sarkodie and Stonebwoy should stop being too local and invest to feature more of these US and UK acts like Naija acts have been doing to expand their boundaries… They’re the only 2 GH artists who have bigger chance of winning the Grammy but they’re being too Stingy to invest,” he wrote on Twitter.
The two, with many others like Shatta Wale, Kuame Eugene, Kidi, Kinnata, it must be added, have that capability to reach the world stage and bring the Grammys and other prestigious awards home, the talent is there, no doubt, they just need to figure out what is working for those out there.
