Ghanaian international Gilbert Koomson has officially completed his move to Turkish club Kasimpasa after a fruitful negotiations in the ongoing summer transfer window.
The 26-year-old has joined the Blue and White lads on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee from Norwegian top-flight league side SK Brann.
He has been incredible in the Norwegian top-flight league with SK Brann, scoring seven times in 17 matches this season.
Koomson has featured once for the senior national team of Ghana and looking forward to grab an opportunity from C.K Akonnor.
Kasımpaşa was founded in 1921 as Altıntuğ. They played in the Istanbul First Leaguebetween 1939–1945 and 1946–1959. The club was promoted to the Türkiye Ligiin 1959 and remained there for 5 seasons, where their best finish was 5th in 1961–62 season.
After 43 years, on 30 May 2007, the team was promoted to the Süper Ligfor the second time in their history. In a dramatic match against Altay, Kasımpaşa came from behind twice to force a penalty shootout, which they won 4–3.
They competed in the Süper Ligin the 2007–08 season, but were relegated back to the TFF First League. Kasımpaşa was promoted to the Süper Ligfor the third time in the club’s history on 17 May 2009 by beating Karşıyaka2–1 after extra timein Ankara.
The team remained in the top tier of Turkish footballand managed to finish in top ten in the 2009–10 season, during which they beat Fenerbahçeaway from home 3–1 and Beşiktaşaway in the Turkish Cupby the same score. They also beat Trabzonsporat home in the league by the same 3–1 scoreline.
