Social gathering restriction extended for another two weeks- Akufo Addo

The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo has extended the ban on social gatherings for another two weeks.

President Akufo-Addo was speaking at the 8th Nation address to Ghanaians on the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

The president explained that social distancing is one of the major keys in the fight against Coronavirus.

For that reason, social gatherings such as churches, schools, Mosque attendance, funeral services, parties, wedding, etc have all been suspended.

The president again pleaded with Muslims in Ghana to pray from their various homes this holy month of Ramadan.

The extension takes effect from 1:00 am on Monday 27th April 2020, the president said in his address.
