Shatta Wale arrested for causing fear and panic
.The Ghana Police Service has arrested Charles Nii Armah Mensah, also known as Shatta Wale.
The 37-year old’s arrest was announced on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, via the police department’s social media handles.
The arrest comes just 24 hours after a piece of viral news circulated claiming that he (Shatta Wale) was shot by unknown gunmen, which turned out to be a hoax.
Police had previously arrested two people in connection with the news, which they claimed was intended to spread fear and panic.
The police also stated in the release that they were looking for Shatta Wale and one Deportee for their alleged knowledge of the viral piece of news.

The Police have arrested Charles Nii Armah Mensah popularly known as Shatta Wale.
After we publicly declared him and one other person wanted, the suspect, Shatta Wale, turned himself in today Tuesday 19th October, 2021, at 8.59pm.
He has been arrested to assist the Police in investigations for his alleged involvement in the creation and circulation of information intended to cause fear and panic.
As stated in previous statements, the public is advised to desist from publishing false information, capable of disturbing the peace of the country or risk being arrested and prosecuted.
