Samini, the legendary Ghanaian musician, has lashed out at Stonebwoy for the comments he made about the Grammy award-winning Nigerian duo, Burnaboy and Wizkid.
In the tweet, in the early hours of Monday, Stonebwoy asked that Nigeria be given the support of all African for the global waves artists there are making.
It was his comment about Ghanaian artists doing the same that apparently incensed Samini, a man who mentored him in the early days of his career.
Samini pointed out in his tweet that Ghanaian stars aren’t able to do it because they can’t seem to hold themselves together a hundred per cent.
For him, it has to start with giving respect to whom it is due, adding that those blazing the trail in the entertainment industry globally do not have the habit of disrespecting the pacesetters in the game in that country, pointing out 2baba as one of those who get the utmost respect they deserve.
He added that Ghanaian artistes need to starting keeping real and say the truth about whatever that is happening and not shield anything.
As they ‘beef’ themselves over who rules the country musically, others take their craft beyond borders and that is what has culminated in they winning the Grammys with Ghanaian artists being left out.
The Dagarti man, currently enjoying some timeout in his native region, the Upper West Region, clearly isn’t happy seeing the tweet from the man he nurtured.
He wrote in reply to Stonebwoy’s tweet:
“🇬🇭Ghana will be ok if we begin to keep it 💯 with each other as artists my gee .it starts from being honest and calling a spade a spade. Do you think they disrespect Idibia like you disrespect Samini?? #yearoftruth. before you give extra fake fans to Nigeria #checkyourself faker.”
