Rockcity Pays Courtesy Call on the Bongo DCE with their Awards and Debut Album

On Friday, 19th June, 2020, Rockcity, arguably the most vibrant music group in the northern sector, paid a courtesy call on the District Chief Executive (DCE) of the Bongo District, Mr Peter Ayinbisa.

The purpose of the visit was firstly, to thank him for his enormous support of the group’s career, and also to present to him copies of their debut album “The Big Breakthrough” in addition to other coveted awards that the group has won over the years.

The Typical Bongo Boys, as they are affectionately called, was privileged to do this in a meeting with the DCE, the Co-ordinating Director, other key staff of the Assembly and the media.

The group expressed its gratitude to the Assembly especially the DCE whom, according to the group has intentionally helped to push their craft to where it is today, both in kind and in cash.
Some copies of their first studio album and awards won by the group were presented to him. The awards plaques included those for NEA Most Popular Song of the Year – Upper East 2018, SEA Northern Artiste of the Year 2019, NEA Artiste of Year – Upper East 2019, and NEA Artiste of the year- Upper East 2020.

In his excitement, The Hon. DCE expressed his pride in the group for highlighting the name of the District beyond the borders of the region through their music, and promised his continued support for young talents in the Entertainment Industry. He mentioned that he was happy that all the members of the group are professionals aside the music they do, and called on other young people to emulate Rockcity by attaching education to whatever creative art they seek to pursue.

Mr. Ayinbisa stated that he would charge his Assembly to make budgetary allocations specially for support of young talents who are into Entertainment especially the music industry, and called on his colleagues around the region to do same, since the industry is very productive.
