The construction of a Community-based Health Planning Services (CHPS) compound at Domeabra community in the Asante Akyem North District of the Ashanti Region has been completed.
A visit by Zackgh.com to the project site, observed that all the construction works were completed including; roofing, plastering and painting and is already connected to the national grid.
The health facility which has a consulting room, delivery room, three other rooms for clinical service deliveries and an Outpatient Department (OPD).
The CHPS compound comes as a big relief and boost to health service delivery in the Area especially for pregnant women who travelled far to access health care.
The chief of Domeabra in his speech said the health facility would solve the trekking of long distances to access health care services and improve the general wellbeing of the people.
The chief lamented that due to lack of a health facility in the area, pregnant women walked long distances to other communities to access antenatal and even post-natal care services.
He said owing to the distance, many people felt reluctant to go for health care when they were sick and that sometimes resulted in complications.
The Executive Director of the Aliu Mahama Foundation and Technical Economic Advisor to the Vice President of Ghana, Dr S.K Frimpong who was a special guest at the ceremony also said the completion of the project was a great relief to all residents as the health care of the people will greatly improve as the facility has been brought to their doorstep.
The academician and philanthropist who doubles as a native of the town seized the occasion to present items valued at millions of Ghana cedis to the health facility to enhance the smooth administration of the newly built edifice.
