We live in a constituency where we have about five tertiary institutions. You want to lead a constituency where you do not believe in them?”
Miss Alhassan said that unlike her opponent she does not play down the importance of all constituents adding “I respect and believe in them.”
She added that although John Dumelo has been active on social media the MP believes her work on the ground will assure her victory.
“I am not that visible on social media, grounds is where the work is and that is where I am also very strong at, come to the grounds and you will hear the people tell you that.”
Reacting to her comments on Midday News on Joy FM, John Dumelo stated that he made no such comments about intellectuals.
He explained that he had stated that he rather does not believe in leaving the position of power to only intellectuals.
“I think it is just cheap political points she wants to core. What I said is when you take a look t NDC we believe in everybody, we believe in the bottom-up approach, we don’t believe that a group of intellectuals should take cover the whole party.”
He stated that he and the party believes in everyone adding that that was why the NDC sort the opinions of people from all walks of life across the country for their manifesto.
That compasses our ideology,” he added.
