Bessa Simons, the acting president for Musicians Union of Ghana (Musiga) in an interview has announced the plans of the union to celebrate the late Jerry John Rawlings.
According to him, His Excellency the former president contributed greatly to the growth of the industry by playing great roles.
He disclosed that while the former president was alive, he always received them with great joy and with a cheerful heart and smile.
He added that providing an office for the union wasn’t the only achievements made for the industry. He made other commendable impacts and also put in extra ordinary effort in helping the music and creative arts industry of Ghana.
The former president Jerry John Rawlings kicked the bucket on 12th November, 2020 while he was on admission at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital Accra, Ghana.
The tribute concert is to provide an opportunity for various musicians and other industry players to pay tribute to this great legend of the land.
The concert will be aired live on television (Adom TV) and on all social media pages of the Musicians Union Of Ghana. at 9pm this Friday.
