MP For Mfantseman, Ekow Quansah Hayford Shot Dead

The MP for Mfanstiman, Honourable Ekow Quansah Hayford has been shot dead by armed men at dawn today. 

Reports indicate the shooting incident at Abeadze Dominase road in the Central Region of Ghana.

The body has since been deposited at the Saltpond mortuary whilst investigations are still ongoing.

An eyewitness in Accra narrated the incident that, the suspected robbers stopped the MP’s vehicle with others but the MP’s driver refused to stopa and tried to drive through.

Unfortunately , the driver was shot first and he lost control over the vehicle.

They were then ordered out of the vehicles and the suspected robbers asked which of them was Ekow Qwansah. The member of parliament then introduced himself.

From the accounts of the witness, the suspects said MP was part of the people who were making life uncomfortable for them in the country. The suspect then fired 2 gunshots at the M.P.

The deceased MP had filed for re-election on  Thursday October 8, 2020 but met his unfortunate met his unfortunate demise.

The NPP has offered commiserating support to family and friends of the deceased  MP whilst the IGP has offered a ¢20,000 bounty sum on the suspected murderers.
