J’Dess, a melodic Nigerian singer, musician, and songwriter, starts the year off right with the release of her debut EP, “Ada.”
The Cavemen, Waje, Selebobo, Chigurl, Zoro, and Loud Urban Choir all make guest appearances on the latest volume, which has eight great and lovely tracks.

“It’s been quite a journey, one I absolutely will embark on over and over again,” she wrote about the EP. It’s been around 5 years in the making, and it’s been an extraordinary journey of discovery and learning: needing to let go of the old in order to welcome the new. It was necessary to rethink the sounds that had shaped me.

She stated about the EP, “It’s been quite an adventure, one I absolutely will embark on over and over again.” It’s been 5 years in the making, and it’s been an incredible voyage of discovery and learning: letting go of the old to make room for the new. It was vital to reconsider the sounds that had influenced my development.

J’Dess, whose real name is Joy Chioma Ebiem, was a finalist on The Voice Nigeria, a music talent program. In Nigerian music circles, the young brilliant vocalist has been dubbed “one of the extremely talented acts to watch out for in the next years.”
