A lot of people do feel so sad because they see themselves a whole lot different from other people, but according to the Nigerian author Omokri, anyone with such thoughts isn’t just thinking right.
Sometimes, there is the feeling of being rejected and that is what makes some people sad because they see themselves as misfits who can’t fit into society because of their difference.
According to him, being different from others is just an advantage, and no one should be sad over something that gives them an added edge over their peers.
The author added that it is different people that make a difference, just as odd people stand out; and when they stand out, they become outstanding in their circles.
To him, people who see themselves as different from others have to embrace it and make a difference in their society rather than feel sad because they are different from ohters.
“It’s foolish to be sad because you are different from others. How can you be sad over an advantage? Different people make a difference. Odd people stand out, and because they stand out, they become outstanding. Embrace and celebrate your difference,” he wrote.
