Shatta Wale Dead?, Fans Worried, Ghana Police Investigating
Following an alleged gunshot attack, the Ghana Police Service has launched a hunt for famed Ghanaian dancehall musician Shatta Wale.
The Ghana Police Service said in a statement on Monday that they had taken steps to determine the whereabouts of the multi-award-winning Reggae and Dancehall musician who was now missing.
In a Facebook post, it added, “The attention of the Police has been attracted to the widely disseminated report on the alleged shooting attack on one Charles Nii Armah Mensah, commonly known as Shatta Wale.”
“Upon learning of the news, the police initiated an inquiry into the case, which included contacting some of his close friends and family members, as well as all of his coworkers.”
“Shatta Wale’s house has been searched, but he has not been discovered.
“The police have been searching hospitals in Accra for Shatta Wale for the previous few hours and continue to do so.
“While we continue our investigations, the Police are asking the public to call the numbers 18555, 191 and 0302773906 with any information about Shatta Wale’s whereabouts.”
Meanwhile, SM fans and Ghanaians are wondering what is going on with Shatta Wale, and whether the shooting rumour is really a publicity gimmick for his upcoming album, “Gift of God.”
Shatta Wale was born on October 17, 1984, and is a producer, reggae-dancehall artist, and actor.
He is most known for his breakout hit song Dancehall King, which earned him the Artiste of the Year award at the Ghana Music Awards in 2014.
