Well-known entertainment commentator Ola Michael expressed his satisfaction that Chef Ebenezer Smith did not encounter opposition from Ghanaians when he tried to shatter the record for the world’s longest cooking marathon.

He clarified that Chef Smith was able to concentrate on his endeavor since there were less people around, such as politicians and celebrities.

He mentioned the’rest break regulation,’ which prevented Afua Asantewaa and Chef Faila from setting a Guinness World Record, and he believes that this was caused in part by the large number of people there.

Ola said, “The relatively low support from Ghanaians will help Chef Smith comply with the’rest break rule’ in the cook-a-thon contest,” in an interview with Asempa FM that ZackGh.com observed.

“You saw how many people came out in favor of Chef Smith during his effort at a cook-a-thon. I was relieved that he did not receive the support since it prevented the vice president or anyone else from interfering with him. He claimed that the lack of people around him made it easier for him to concentrate on his work rather than taking care of others.
About Chef Smith’s cook-a-thon attempt

On March 6, 2024, at 820 hours, Chef Smith concluded his quest to set a new Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by one individual.

On February 1, 2024, he began his quest to break Alan Fisher’s current record of 119 hours in the Amadia Shopping Center at Spintex, Accra, for the Guinness World Record.

He announced that he will be leaving on March 6, 2024, after first planning to go 360 hours and then 1200 hours.

Despite the lack of media coverage for the cook-a-thon, Chef Smith gained notoriety in the following days when a number of artists and celebrities, such as Amerado, Kofi Jamar, Nana Ama McBrown, Clemento Suarez, Kwaku Manu, and others, visited the location to support Chef Smith in his incredible achievement.

Chef Smith formally lay down his tools and declared his GWR endeavor to be over on March 6, 2024.

Those who had come to observe him throughout his effort greeted this with great clamor and jubilation.
