How did GUM become the third force in the 2020 elections? This is the question being asked by almost every Tom, Dick and Harrry.
With 12 aspiring candidates, with only two formidable parties. One will have thought the PPP, the CPP, the NDP and other existing parties will have been the third force.
Fortunately or unfortunately, Gum is. Having appeared from nowhere and swiftly scheming his way into main stream politics, GUM has made a strong statement.
GUM was founded on the 10th of March, 2019 by Christian Kwabena Andrews. He serves as the founder and leader of this movement.
GUM is the abbreviated form for Ghana Union Movement. His slogan is Arise For development, wob3te GUM. Before entering into politics, he pastored his own Church and had the masses frequenting his church for deliverance and exorcism.
During the launch of his party, he claimed, he is the new Kwame Nkrumah. He also claimed that the spirit of Nkrumah is back and living in him.
One will ask, did he become the third force because some Ghanaians felt Nkrumah is back in GUM or his church members across the country decided to vote for him?
