France’s Ousmane Dembele exits Euro 2020 after injury blow
The 24-year-old came on for Adrien Rabiot in the 57th minute but hobbled off holding onto leg, and was replaced by Thomas Lemar shortly before full-time.
It is a blow for France who won’t be able to replace Dembele, who also made a one minute cameo during their opening game victory over Germany.
Ousmane Dembele has been plagued by injuries since joining Barcelona from Borussia Dortmund for £135.5m back in August 2017.
In Dembele’s first three seasons at the Nou Camp he only made 75 appearances largely due to to persistent and niggling injuries.
Didier Deschamps’ men find themselves in a battle to finish top of their group of death, with a tricky match against Portugal to come on Wednesday.
France will hope for a big improvement from their performance against Hungary who were able to hold the heavy favourites to a draw in Budapest.
