Fameye accused of defrauding a foreign music band
Award-winning Takoradi-based music producer, Body Beatz has accused Ghanaian music star Fameye for defrauding Ivorian music group, Climbie Afrika.
According to Body Beatz, who happens to be the sound engineer who produced Fameye and Kwesi Arthur’s song titled “‘Long Life”, Climbie Afrika contacted him to get them Fameye for a feature for a song.
The award-winning musician charged GH¢3,500, which the group agreed and paid the did recorded song and mastering and everything was done.
Fast forward, in May 2021, Climbie Afrika contacted Fameye again through Body Beatz to get the shooting of the music video for the song they recording, Fameye charged GH¢5,000. which both parties agreed on GH¢4,500 which the music duo paid the agreed amount.
However, after almost a year and half, Fameye has refused to show up for the video shoot after taking the money.
Speaking in an interview with Ato Kwamina Otoo D’Gem on Takoradi-based Connect FM, Body Beatz explained that Fameye has on several occasions failed to honour appointments for the music video shoot, even though he agrees to be present.
He went on to say that in October 2021, he had to do everything he could to prevent Climbie Afrika from arresting Fameye in Takoradi when he arrived to perform at the Guinness Bright House Experience concert.
The reigning Western Music Awards 2022 Music Producer of the Year added that Climbie Afrika subsequently arrested him because they believe he did not pay the monies to Fameye, causing the undue delay.
The frustrated music producer went on to say that the duo is no longer interested in filming the song’s video and would appreciate it if Fameye would refund the money he took from them.
