Political Analyst , Dr. Kwasi Amakye – Boateng has condemned the electoral commission for refusing to publish the names of some 30,000 persons deleted from the register ahead of the December 7 elections.
However, Dr. Kwasi Amakye – Boateng made this statement on Happy 98.9 Fm.
He further stated that the electoral commission is taking things for granted. The electoral commission could have used the exhibition to address the situation.
He also said that it is wrong for the electoral commission to prevent these people from voting on the election day.
The electoral commission should this opportunity to publish the 30,000 people affected. It will make sense if these names are known so the people can challenge the electoral commission to put their names back on the voter roll.
The electoral commission has deleted some 30,000 names from the register and these persons were said to have engaged in multiple registration.
The electoral commission further stated that those who were barred will be prevented from voting and their names will be provided to various polling stations.
