Dortmund confirm signing of Schlotterbeck from Freiburg

Borussia Dortmund have confirmed the signing of Freiburgcentral defender Nico Schlotterbeckon a five-year contract, beginning when he moves clubs at the end of the season.

The transfer fee for the 22-year-old star is reportedly worth around €25 million, with €20m up front and a further €5m in future fees.

The  centre-back has been remarkable this season, and was recently called up to Hansi Flick’s Germany national team squad. He will be making the move to Westfalenstadion for €20 million, and will be signing a multi-year contract with the club. 

The Yellow and Black Side hen confirmed the news with a press statement on their website.

“Nico Schlotterbeck is a young German international who has made great progress. His profile fits BVB perfectly,” stated Borussia Dortmund’s outgoing sporting director Michael Zorc, who will be leaving the club at the end of the season.

Nico Schlotterbeck, still a member of SC Freiburg, will join Borussia Dortmund on a contract until 2027 following the end of the season.
