An Islamic organization; Darul Hadith Institute donates to the poor and needy during the partial lockdown.

An Islamic organization by name Darul Hadith Institute, located at Aboabo Number 2 within the Asokore Mampong Municipality in the Ashanti region, has donated some relief items to the poor and needy within the municipality.

“Assalamu Alaykum brothers and sisters, as we encourage all to adhere to the lockdown directives in an attempt to stop the spread of Corona Viral Disease – 2019 (COVID-19), we cannot turn a blind eye to the poor and destitude in the society who cannot afford to buy food that can keep them up to the 2 weeks lockdown period. It is to this that we are launching “DARUL HADITH COVID-19 HUMANITARIAN RELIEF” Project which seeks to provide the needy in the society with food items. Kindly call when you need food, and Insha Allaah, we shall supply. Please stay home, observe all the precautionary measures and stop the spread. Thank you” – Darul Hadith

Darul Hadith Insitute, whose main aim is to propagate the true teachings of Islam to Muslims and invite non-Muslims to Islam, did the donations as part of its larger corporate responsibility which includes reaching out to the poor and needy in the society.

The donation, which is being done on a house-to-house basis, is being spearheaded by the leader of the institute, Shaykh Anas Ibrahim Tawfiq and is in line with the teachings of Islaam.

Among the numerous verses which encourage Muslims to give charity include:

“O you who believe! Spend of that with which We have provided for you, before a Day comes when there will be no bargaining, nor friendship, nor intercession. And it is the disbelievers who are the Zaalimoon (wrongdoers)”
[al-Baqarah 2:254]

As for the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him) which encourages giving charity, it includes the following:

It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “There is no day on which the people get up but two angels come down and one of them says, ‘O Allaah, give in compensation to the one who spends (in charity),’ and the other says, ‘O Allaah, destroy the one who withholds.’”

Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 1374.

Shaykh Anas also admonished the people to always observe the safety measures put in place by the government which includes: covering of the mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing, washing of hands regularly with soap under running water, the use of alcohol based sanitizers, observing of the social distancing and heeding to all the directives associated with the partial lockdown.

We ask Allaah to bless and protect Darul Hadith and we hope other Islamic institutions will also follow suit, and we ask Allah to protect the world from this deadly virus, Ameen.
