Akuapem Poloo: GHS100k Bail Granted For Obscene Photograph With Child

Akuapem Poloo whose real name is Rosmond Alade Brown has been arraigned before an Accra circuit Court.  She was publicly criticised for displaying a naked picture she took with her son on social media.

The court charged her with two counts. Publication of obscene material and engaging in domestic violence.

She pleaded not guilty as Mrs. Christiana Cann, who served as the presiding judge charged her to present a bail in the total sum of GHS 100,000 with four sureties.

She opined that two have to be justified with landed property worth GHS100,000. Also, a title deed of the property must be added. All these are to be deposited at the court registry pending the order of the court. The case was adjourned to November 23rd.

Philip Kofi Bekoe,  Akuapem Poloo’s lawyer asked the court to Grant her bail. since she had people who will stand as sureties when granted bail.

Chief Inspector Agartha Asantewaa is the case prosecutor and Mr. Bright K. Appiah is the Director of Child Rights International Ghana and the complainant.

The prosecution team claimed Akuapem Poloo celebrated the son’s seventh birthday whilst going all nude with the son half nude on June 7th.

She posted on her social media handles and received a lot of backlash. The complainant petitioned the Director-General CID and the matter was referred to the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU).

Rosemond, claimed she posted the nude picture with her son unintentionally.

However, prosecution are of the view she posted the nude picture intentionally.
