Afia Schwarzenegger reveals Chief of Staff gave her GH50K for her late father’s coffin
Ghanaian actress and internet-sensation has been in a sad mood for days now making arrangements for the burial and funeral arrangements following the demise of her dear father who died after a short illness.
The Ghanaian socialite and actress who laid her father to rest over the weekend disclosed one of the kind gestures she received from one of the dignitary figures in the country, Ghana’s Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, as someone who helped her with the burial and thanked her for a GH50,000 financial gift.
According to her, the money went into importing a coffin for her father’s burial. “A good mother who provides for her children. What would I have done without you? Without you, I don’t even know how my father’s coffin would’ve been flown into the country,” she said.
She continued that “I’m on my knees and I want to thank you. Thank you, my mother. God bless you…you gave me 50,000 cedis and asked me to inform you about any extra cost…which extra cost after the huge sum you gave me? People said God will bless me for giving my father a befitting burial. I divide such blessings into two and give you half of it.”
Afia used social media to thank some of her coworkers and businesses who came out to express support for the funeral, revealing that the total cost of the funeral is GHS200,000.
She further revealed that Dr Kwaku Oteng, a business tycoon, handed her about GHS60,000 for funeral expenses, as well as Fadda Dickson of Despite Media Group, who provided a significant sum.
Chairman Wontumi of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the Ashanti Region also stormed the funeral grounds and contributed GHS4,000.
