Accident At Accra-Kumasi Highway- 14 Dead, 80 Injured

14 persons have lost their lives and over 80 also injured in a fatal accident that occurred around 5:30am on Tuesday morning.

According to reports, the accident happened at Kyekyewre, a town on the Accra-Kumasi Highway, in the Eastern Region of Ghana.

Eyewitnesses narrate the incident on how a cargo car believed to be heading towards Burkina Faso burst its tyre, causing the driver to lose control of the steering wheel and ended up crushing  into two other Accra-bound buses.

Personnel from the Ghana Police Service, National Ambulance Service and National Disaster Management Organsiation were able to rescue individuals through the help of the Nsawam-Suhum Government hospitals with bodies of the deceased conveyed to the morgue.
