Abirem NDC Mourns Former President Rawlings.The Chairman and Executives of the National Democratic Congress(NDC) in the Abirem Constituency of the Eastern region have released a statement to mourn the death of former President of Ghana and founder of NDC, Flt.Leut.Jerry John Rawlings.

The first President of the 4th Republic of Ghana passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2020, at the Korle Bu Teaching hospital.

The man who was widely known as Papa ‘J’ died at the age of 73.

FROM THE NDC ABIREM CONSTITUENCY CHAPTER TOWARDS THE DEATH OF PARTY FOUNDER AND FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF GHANA – HIS EXCELLENCY THE LATE JERRY JOHN RAWLINGS.

“The Abirem Constituency Executive Committee led by Chairman Alhaji Nurudeen Fuseini wishes to inform the entire party membership, notably chiefs and elders, party executives, various groups in the party and the Birim North District in general to remain calm whilst the National outfit comes out with the cause of his death from the family and party’s official statement.

The Constituency Chairman deems it fit to caution all and sundry to stop any speculation and unsubstantiated statement that will derail the integrity of the late former president and the family.

The party however expresses its deepest condolences to the bereaved family and the entire party membership.

His demise has created a vacuum that cannot be fill both in the party and the state. We recognise his precise contribution to Ghana’s democracy and the party.

Finally, the Constituency Chairman wish to reiterate that all party activities in the Constituency is temporarily suspended indefinitely.
