A 12 year old drowned in River Wewe at Parkoso, Asawase Constituency

A young boy, estimated to be around the age of 12, has left his parents heartbroken after going swimming in the River Wewe in Parkoso and never returned.

The Parkoso Zongo community in the Asawase Constituency is said to have been the scene of this tragedy.

Christoper Andoful Jnr., the victim, drowned in the River Wewe with his friends around 4 p.m. on Sunday, October 17, 2021.

Divers from the area have been scouring the river in search of the victim.

Christopher Andoful, the victim’s father, has been recounting the events.

“I got a call saying my son had drowned. As a result, I put down whatever I was doing and dashed home. When I arrived, I noticed the other two boys were missing my kid. I was told that as he was drowning, he called for aid, but when no one answered, the two others attempted to pull him out, but were unsuccessful. Someone jumped into the river to look for him, but they were unsuccessful.” he stated
